Las Rocas de San Alejandro Garnacha Vinas Viejas
Description: Winemaker's Notes:
Spicy, rich cranberry bouquet. Dark cherry flavors are highlighted by excellent structure and depth all supported by elegant oak. Round and full in the mouth, with supple tannins and a fruit-filled finish.

Critical Acclaim
WS 90pts
Wine Spectator - "Cherry and red plum flavors are fresh and focused, framed by notes of smoke, herb and licorice. Light, firm tannins support the polished texture, while balsamic acidity sweeps the finish."
RP 88pts
The Wine Advocate - "The 2012 Las Rocas Garnacha Viņas Viejas is an old-vine Garnacha selection from head-pruned 35- to 50-year-old vineyards on a mixture of soils, clay, stone and schist, which aged for ten months in French (70%) and American oak barrels before bottling. The oak is still noticeable in the nose but seems to be in the process of being integrated with the cherry and orange peel aromas. The palate shows a medium body with grainy, slightly dusty tannins, some hints of sweetness and good acidity before ending slightly warm."
