Critical Acclaim
V 92pts
Vinous / Antonio Galloni - "Highly complex nose offers aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, spices, espresso and bitter chocolate lifted by a floral topnote. Wonderfully intense, fine-grained, silky wine with enticing sweetness but also a juicy impression of energy to its berry, spice and light torrefaction flavors. Finishes with serious but ripe, harmonious tannins and excellent length. This expansive wine already offers outstanding appeal but it has the material and balance to age. Incidentally, this wine and the Frederick are Spring Valley's most important bottlings, with about 3,000 cases of each produced."
