This new release of Howell Mt Red is true to the character of a playful 'jug wine.' This year is a blend of Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Petit Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The fruit is rich and jammy with high tones of blueberry and plum. But along with all that supple forward fruit, there is complexity in layers of sweet leather, tarragon and spice.
