Stag's Leap Wine Cellars 40th Anv. S.L.V
Description: A single vineyard, estate-grown wine from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, the winery which put California on the wine map in 1976 when it beat Bordeaux’s best in a blind tasting competition which became known as the Judgment of Paris. The fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Stag's Leap Vineyard (SLV), one of the Napa Valley's great sites. This is ripe and complex, with vibrant chocolate-covered cherry aromas alongside notes of roasted chestnuts, black tea with clove spice. In the mouth, it has a lovely core of red berry fruit with rich tannins and a haunting cardamom note on the finish. Its solid, well-balanced structure makes this an ideal choice for long term ageing.
