Ingersoll Wine and & Spirits has the perfect way to end a great dining experience — a desert wine. These wines can be a challenge to make. They are high in both alcohol and sugar, but the former is produced from the later. Look for late-harvest wines and muscats from California, ice wines for New York, and don't forget to check out our imported dessert wine selections. Last updated 12/22/09

03 Artesa Gewürztraminer San Benito County Late Harvest Select
Winery notes: Honeyed apricots and honeysuckle dominate the aroma of this wine. The rare and ethereal botrytized aromas of lychee and chestnut with a twist of clove spice make this a wonder to savor. This wine is outrageously sweet and viscous with lingering flavors which make it suprising that the finish is not cloying. Enjoy now or over the next decade or two.

NV Tassel Ridge Finalé Premier Red Dessert Wine
Winery Notes: With big flavor, residual sugar at about 11%, and alcohol at 17.3%, Finalé is “dessert-in-a-bottle” or the perfect compliment to Maytag blue cheese, salted cashews and high-cocoa solids dark chocolate. Note that Finalé does not work well with milk chocolate because milk chocolate is sweeter than the wine. Tassel Ridge Finalé is made from grapes typically used in making Port wines in Portugal: Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional and Alvarinho. We imported these grapes from California in the fall of 2005.
