03 Coldisole Brunello di Montalcino
"The 2003 Brunello di Montalcino from Coldisole offers lovely density and weight on the palate in a fat, rich expression of ripe dark fruit, chocolate, scorched earth and toasted oak. It is a backward wine that ideally needs another year or so in bottle or a few hours of aeration to allow the tannins to soften a little. It saw three years of aging in French oak, which gives the wine its roundness but also adds a touch of dryness to the tannins, particularly on the close. 05 Ruffino Riserva Ducal Chianti Classico
Winery notes: The 2005 Riserva Ducale is characterized by particularly fragrant, fruity notes, typical of this vintage. Sweet cherries and red berry fruits meet with delicately spicy hints of cigar box and white pepper grains and elegant scents of red roses and flint. Fruity, soothing and well-balanced, the taste reveals velvety tannins and lots of fruit. The long ageing in oak enriches the fruity core with hints of cacao and cloves and the long-lingering aftertaste adds intriguing notes of rosemary and figs.

04 Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico
"The 2004 Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale Oro remains the bellwether wine from this historic property. It is a layered, full-bodied wine with attractive notes of tobacco, sweet red cherries, wild herbs and toasted oak. The wine’s density, persistence and complexity make it one of the better versions in recent memory. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2022." 91 points. — Wine Advocate

"The 2006 Insoglio del Cinghiale possesses inviting, super-ripe aromatics that lead to notes of earthiness, smoke, black pepper and ripe dark fruit that develop in the glass. This supple, plump red is a great example of the bold, racy wines that were made in Tuscany in the 2006 vintage. Insoglio del Cinghiale is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012." 89 points. — Wine Advocate

03 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino
"The 2003 Brunello di Montalcino is very representative of the house style in its intense expression of ripe dark fruit, menthol, leather, chocolate and spices. It offers superb richness and depth, with notable complexity for a wine of its size. Another year of bottle age should help smooth the tannins yet I wouldn’t wait too long to drink this wine, as it will likely offer its best drinking relatively early. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016." 92 points. — Wine Advocate. Also received a 92 from Wine Spectator

06 Vietti Barbera d'Alba Scarrone
"The 2006 Barbera d’Alba Scarrone is an incredibly pure wine. Floral, perfumed aromas lead to a focused, vibrant expression of ripe dark fruit wrapped around mineral notes that linger on the finessed, long finish. The wine offers superb detail in a more restrained style than has been the case in recent vintages. Simply put, this is a gorgeous bottle. 06 Vietti Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco
The 2006 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco is gloriously ripe and sweet, with an irresistible core of floral red fruit. This vibrant, medium-bodied wine possesses outstanding balance and also happens to be one of the world’s great values. In this vintage Perbacco has a degree more muscle, structure and ripeness than either 2004 or 2005. Over the last few months the wine has put on a surprising level of weight, and it is a wine that could benefit from further bottle age. Many Barolo producers would kill for a wine like this. In a word: Awesome!! Vietti’s Perbacco is made from Barolo-designated parcels that don’t meet the qualitative standard for the estate’s multi-cru Barolo Castiglione. Perbacco is for all practical purposes a Barolo, but because it its bottled two months earlier than regulations permit, the wine is sold as Langhe Nebbiolo. Anticipated maturity: Anticipated maturity: 2010-2021. -90pts -Robert Parker
