Meritage - Merit = Superior Quality; Heritage = Tradition. In the style of bordeaux blending, comes a California wine with a \"tradition\" of \"superior quality.\" Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Carignane, and Cabernet Franc are just a few of the traditional grapes that go into a meritage creating a blend that can be ready to drink at its release or continue to blossom into an outstanding wine drinking experience after just a few years of cellaring. We have hand-picked the selections you see before you, as a reflection of outstanding quality and craftsmanship. Enjoy. Last updated 4/3/2020.

19 Dry Creek Vineyard The Mariner
The grapes for this delicious Bordeaux-inspired blend come from several of Dry Creek Vineyard's most prized estate and hillside vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley. At first swirl, the wine displays aromas of black currant, black cherry, and blackberry. Several more minutes reveal hints of cardamom, white pepper, cumin, and dried herbs. The palate has dark berry flavors along with earthy complexity and savory tones. It finishes with notes of mocha, marzipan, fine leather, and black tea. Good acidity will help this wine age beautifully for years to come. 93pts from James Suckling(available: 3)

20 Matthiasson Phoenix Vineyard Cabernet Franc
The Cabernet Franc has distinct aromas of dry leaves in the fall, poblano chili peppers, and sage, with plummy fruit. The tannins are very soft in the mouth, with an iron-like minerality on the finish. It’s light on the palate but firm at the same time — it’s a wine with many contradictions that is hard to describe with tasting notes. (available: 4)

19 Niner Bootjack Red
This cleverlycomplex and impressive blend of 34% Cabernet Franc,33 Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, 5% Grenache, 4% Petit Verdot, and 4% Merlot is another high value: It's muscular but also nuanced. Black-fruit tones predominate but are merely the core of a broad sensory spectrum. Spice and light toast notes from French oak (45% new) lend complexity, and the likely cost of those barrels makes one wonder how this wine snuck past the company accountants. 93pts from Tasting Panel Magazine(available: 3)

20 Pahlmeyer Jayson Red Wine
The depth and complexity of this wine are immediately apparent with a rush of crushed black cherry, fraises des bois, and wild mushroom on the nose. The palate opens, layer upon plush layer, with raspberry, strawberry, and lingonberry, all held beautifully in focus by integrated polished tannins. Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec 94pts from Wine Enthusiast(available: 33)

A right-bank style blend with a wealth of cassis and dark plums on offer. There’s a floral edge, too. The palate has richness and freshness with very supple and approachable, soft tannins. 43% cabernet franc, 38% merlot, 14% cabernet sauvignon, 3% petit verdot and 2% malbec. 92pts from James Suckling(available: 3)
